They also have a cyberpowerpc on sale for $500 with a ryzen 3 3100 and amd rx 570 4gb which imo is a better deal than these two. Rx 570 is slightly better than the 1650.

You will not need to upgrade every year. Many people game on components that 5 years old or older, and are still quite competitive today. I would not expect needing to upgrade for the next 2-3 years...

Yes of course if you need more cores for heavy duty applications you would want the i5. For someone using as a starter gaming PC I would recommend the ryzen. You can get memory speeds up to 3200 mhz....
