Both will work for vr. The 2070 max q is gonna be quite a bit lower in performance than this full boat 2070 super though. That being said, I run it on my 1060 laptop for the nieces and nephews with...

Only big downside I'm seeing to this one is the ram is soldered. Otherwise for a 2070 super, I'm having a hard time believing you'll find a much better price.

I thought so too when I bought the R2 on sale last year. Ran across a couple situations already were I wish I would have got 32GB.

Really nice machine but I think Costco’s upcoming $1200 MSI beats this. The build quality here might be better but the MSI has upgradable RAM. You can argue that this screen is better (300Hz vs...

Edit (FWIW): I cancelled after seeing the GE66 deal at $1,699 since I missed out last time. Almost bought, but then decided to stick to my original plan and try to the GE75 Raider w/ 2070 (Max-P as...

I would suggest people checking the MSI machine in person. I found one in my local store and tried it. Personally I am not into the plastic feeling. Costwise it is better than the XPS for sure.

Thanks OP, mine comes in Saturday. Hopefully it’s a good deal as I could not put hands on one to see what I think. Was hoping to pick up a 17in laptop but I’m thinking this was a good purchase.

Does undervolting affect CPU performance?

No, it just makes it not run as hot, so less chance to get throttled or longer playtime before throttling for some cases. My temp pretty much peaks around 86-88 now I did get couple BSOD when I...

Oh it's definitely enough. Some people get real picky about that though and want the option for 32gb or more. Just figured it was worth pointing out. I'm not nearly that picky and I'm really hemming...

300hz is not good thing if you value battery life as it doesn't allow it to be switched to using IGPU at all. So it uses 2070 at all times. 144hz Gync is the one that will allow switching to IGPU...

I'd hang on for the 30xx series considering we are seeing laptops with 2060 in the $600 range already. It would be nice to see 30xx series with starting price $1000 like the 20xx series.

At the time that I purchased it (a week or two ago), the MSI one was substantially better than anything on sale at the time. The specs on the MSI laptop are top notch (2070 super, 32 gigs or ram,...
