My D2421H just arrived. I thought it would at least be "passable" or at least on-par with my 2-year old LG monitors I got for $108 in 2018. The greys are SO WRONG. I didn't expect to get $400...

Probably. Some older Ultrasharps used CCFL backlights, and those were subject to dimming and image degradation with heavy use. Not so much of an issue once Dell switched to LEDs.

It'll be lighter with much thinner bezels, but not worth upgrading. Not even sure if it's an upgrade, the image is probably better on the Ultrasharp from 2011.

Good size if you have a smaller desk; pixel pitch is the same as a larger 32" 1440p monitor, so text should be crisp.
