Yeah, I do not recommend this. Gravel/mulch works pretty good, bit we also use cardboard and sometimes newspapers, but not all plants like ink.

I recommend you don't buy this. It's made of woven polypropylene, and as others said, it'll make your life difficult in the future for the reasons mentioned above. Any type of plastic landscape...

Woven doesn't seem to be the best choice for weed guard. Nonwoven / non perforated seems to be the better choices. I bought this for use behind wire mesh for air supply for compost cages.
