You should definitely send that in for warranty coverage. I had the touchscreen issue but mine was minor and the software update fixed it surprisingly.

Yes, you can get an exchange but the guy at th kiosk was adamant of showing him the issue there before doing the exchange and not sure if we can prove it by showing a third party software.

Go with unlocked. You can just insert your previous T-Mobile sim into the new device. Also, the carrier free phones don’t have the annoying jingle start up screen so that’s a bonus.
