last time was $10 with a smart bulb, it was an okay deal. $10 by itself isn't really worth it unless you're using as xmas gifts, this thing is nothing compared to a regular echo

Ring system is not relevant. Echo device sends notification to your phone. It doesn't trigger Ring alarm in any way.
