The mic is excellent, the built-in speaker is the only weak point of this thing. When I am in the bathroom I have the volume at 5 but if I am in the shower I have to put it to like 8.

Ring system is not relevant. Echo device sends notification to your phone. It doesn't trigger Ring alarm in any way.

last time was $10 with a smart bulb, it was an okay deal. $10 by itself isn't really worth it unless you're using as xmas gifts, this thing is nothing compared to a regular echo
