Except if you’re using extra wide boards then feather boards don’t work. And these do both directions at once which is nice.

These apply force down and towards the fence. So it's similar to using a feather board on the fence to hold down and another on the table to hold the wood toward the fence.

Use an auto-feed assembly. They're pricey to buy, but really inexpensive to make. And all your ripping will be done for ya.

Actually, the rollers are one direction and that is what stops kickback with the proper amount of pressure. The 5 degree angle set of the rollers directs the material against the fence.
