I very much agree with you. The UB820 is likely the best. I would say the M2 is an extremely close second tho. Possible even a 1a vs 1b type of close. My nod only goes to the M2 for the USB file...

The HDR optimizer works on the Netflix and Amazon apps too. If you've ever found any HDR content too flat or dim on either of these apps, to this player is great at making them pop, like they should....

The 820 is better built and it is quieter but I would not call the 420 noisy. It is nothing like the Xbox though, that can be noisy.

Delivered today... I can confirm, Firmware Main Version 1.64 (latest) USB Dolby Vision playback is not supported. Single layer or Dual Layer formats are not supported. No DV over usb for now......
