This is what I do. IMO this way you can end up with a better quality drive for much less than an off the shelf external. I’ve got a total of about $50 into my lg internal Blu-ray drive with adapter.

You're better off upgrading what you have rather than buying a whole new pc. Instead of spending $750 on this for example, you could (attempt to) get a 3070 for $499 or a 3080 for $699.
