This is not an induction model, which heats the rice in a completely different way. IMO if you eat a lot of Japanese short grain rice, IH cooker is worth it.

The instant pot isn't meant to store rice for long periods, the fancy dedicated rice cookers do this part well. The IP has a 'keep warm' setting but it's not meant for rice imo.

Improvement in terms of effort, sure, but certainly not quality. The best rice I've ever made was on the stovetop. It requires slightly more effort and skill, but it cooks in the same amount of time.
