You have to use it with Paypal not directly on Walmart. When selecting the discover card it gives you the option to use rewards.

at payment time, you should not be looking at "any merchants" but instead looking at paypal meaning you are entering the paypal system, no?

Unless you got email from discover, otherwise you probably not qualify. The email from discover card did mention last 4 digit of card number which qualify, I have two discover card and only got one...
