Agree w/ you. We love ours and have used it several times a week for the last two years resulting in us putting our George Foreman grills in the closet. The only problem we had was the hinge...

A frying pan and a cheap waffle maker

I have had three of these, and I use it for about 5-6 meals per week. The waffle plates make somewhat crisp waffles if you don’t cook at over 350 degrees. Not as good as a dedicated to waffle...

I have used this for about 2 years. Would not buy again. My main gripe is that the grease drain is super small and there is no angle, so you need to prop the entire thing up in the front and...

We been through two, I think they are junk. Hinge design is flawed, drips grease. I can only recommend is you get it free and need to save space.

I don't have a recommendation, unfortunately. I have a great Krups waffle maker but it's been discontinued for years.

That's true in theory, but in practice people get lazy and they put it away without cleaning. That hasn't been my experience with quality nonstick items.

Which one do you recommend?

Nothing a dishwashing brush and a damp cloth can't clean. Remember the waffles get so crispy they lift right off so only thing left is a little residue from the butter or grease. Besides with time,...

I would never buy a waffle maker without removable plates that you can put in the dishwasher. Otherwise you'll never keep it clean.

I use mine for making pancakes. Pretty much all I would trust it with. I tried cooking chicken with the grill plates, the problem is, the unit struggles to make enough heat to keep a sear. What...

This is good for sandwiches. No good for waffles. This one is better by far. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000TYBWIG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_buLWFbRHJK923?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

These are great. I bought one two years ago and used it 4 times. Go figure.

Same here. Can never get crispy waffles with this thing.

What would you all recommend for grilled cheese, grilling up burritos, and waffles occasionally?

I would not recommend this. We have this with waffle plates and it's just bad at all functions. I wish we had a regular waffle maker.

Just FYI. The panini part works great, but the waffle plates are terrible. I could never get crispy waffles with them - they were always soggy! I ended up getting rid of this and getting a regular...

I had a bad experience with this press. The hinge broke on one side, JB weld didn't hold, warranty was passed, and the piece isn't sold to replace. I'd be interested in seeing if the new model...

Note: this is the older version. Newer version is GR-5B-P1. This is available (new) at Best Buy for $70, open box for $50. Item has great reviews though all over the web. Buyer beware.

This is a great price, the waffle plates usually cost > $20 on their own.
