I went with the impact driver with battery and charger for $99. The only difference is the lower noise on the surge. Not worth the extra $30 imho.

Yes and no. If there was a choice, I would choose 2ah but it should not break a great deal.
Once you have a few M12 tools, you will have had many opportunities to acquire 2ah or higher batteries.
