The problem is not power but rather the GPU. A solution is to use one of those old fashioned GPU integrated USB to Display adapters at which point you can probably have tons of displays.

Even USB2.0 port has a 0.5A power requirement in the standard. In most cases, it will pass through much more than 0.5A and should work fine for slow charging.
