Fake spot gives this a B while CCC says the lowest non-coupon price it has ever been is 16.99 so this edges that out. Seems like a decent deal if you need it

This. I have 4 kids and know where you are coming from. Ask any pediatrician to rank the methods/locations of measuring temperature for fever - IR probably won't even be on the list.

The hard truth is IR is not and will never be accurate for body temperature. At absolute best you could use it as a screening tool only to be followed up with a real method of measuring temperature.
