Mine had the warranty expired. I filed a ticket to hopefully update the warranty. I'm not sure how someone bought this a year ago yet somehow best buy is selling it now.

Yes. Just tell them BB told you to tell them to use the purchase date. You have to submit a copy of receipt too. There is a dispute warranty on their support page so used that. Took like 3 -5 days.

See if you have a program called "Lenovo Vantage" on your PC. I normally only work with ThinkPads so I haven't played with the consumer grade laptops, but they have a similar package on their PC.
