The motor in the lid is literal trash. Mine broke in 6 months and now I just keep it with the lid open in my garage for when I’m working in there

Thanks OP great deal - I have gone thru a few of these cans over the years, Sensors seem to go out in a year to year and a half. but I still use those old ones by just pushing the open/close button....

Stupid request, but can anyone that has this, measure the total height with the lid open? We had one of the Costco ones, and loved it - except for the fact that the batteries were inside (not on the...

I have this. It's not dented, lasted me over a year with the same batteries. Motion isn't as smooth as hydraulics but it does open when I need it to. Also this isn't a deal, got this for $30

Is it on both sides? Maybe you can turn the lid around. Nobody is looking that closely at your kitchen garbage can anyways.

They just had to ruin it by sticking a big Mainstays logo right on the front of it. I would understand maybe if it was premium brand you might want the name to be displayed, but Walmart's store...

What happened to mankind?press the pedals to open the lid. I can't believe we are discussing about a automatic lid opener on top of garbage can for $40 as slick deal. Well

Every single motion sensor controlled trash can I have ever seen in others' houses were broken.

I’ve had a few of these all different brands and the most common problem is they all have plastic gears that don’t last, on top of that food and other gunk get into the gears and the lids barely open...

I bought one last time this deal came in, its a nice trashcan for the price. The motion activated lid gets annoying when you are cooking and need to constantly go to the trash but I just leave the...

Would suggest you purchase a version that needs to be plugged in. Going through batteries increases the lifetime cost and harms the environment depending on how you dispose of them.

Great trash can (if that's even a thing lol). Got it in September and put a pair of D batteries in, still haven't changed it, and I have a toddler who loves opening it for no reason. If you're...

The open button cover is gone but still works. But I’ve never had any sensor problems. I also rarely use the buttons since it opens reliably. Based on the mixed reviews I’d say yes. It’s been 9 years...

I went through 4 of these in the last 7 years (2 sensor failures, 1 gears went bad, 1 completely died). They are very poor quality. Not wasting my money on these anymore.

I bought an itouchless from amazon 9 years ago, it’s a little beat up but still works fine. I’ll replace it with the plug in touchless version eventually. Anecdotal but maybe a higher quality item.

I had a 9 stars version of this that lasted 14 years before it died just recently. That said, I chose the costco kohler step can at $69 over this one due to the reports of the sensors burning out...
