just throw it in the fridge. Expired is A OK . Instax has the polaroid game on lock since fuji stopped making FP 100C and polaroid's OG formula isn't a thing anymore.

I shoot heavily with instax film, I have shot numerous expired film cartridges and they’ve turned out fine but like others stated before, by at your own risk.

Had the same issue, which eventually resolved. Apparently to reset it, you need to have the lens extended when you change the batteries. Very weird thing. That trick also didn't work for us several...
