Sony core SSCS5 are much better speakers than these Pioneer AJ. I have both (in different room). However, these Pioneer AJ speakers are good speakers too.

amazon had same speakers with altos for 99 so it's a OK deal. Sony core SSCS5 is a 3 way speaker. Sounds better than Pioneer AJ.
