This coupon is for 2TB. It is hard to compare price/performance between a 2TB and 1TB.

The SK Hynix is a high end gen 3 and has comparable R/W speeds (iops wise) to this XPG drive which is on the slow end of gen 4. The only real difference being this is 2tb for almost double the cost...

same here, I have prime and there is no coupon offered. The price is also at $239, so even with the 30 off coupon, it would come out to $209, a farcry from the $124 listed by the OP

Not bad for a gen 4 2tb, but it appears all you are getting is the interface and not the speed. I wouldnt waste a 4.0 slot with this if I had multiple drives.

The XPG SX8200 Pro is available for $230 with $20 coupon on top of that ($210), but that's the SSD where they replaced the controller with an inferior version on the most recent models.

I bought 2 of the 2TB drives. Better than high end GEN 3 drives at GEN 3 budget price.

Have this very drive in my most recent build (at a much higher price!). Great drive. Gets you into Gen4 territory without all the cost of the top-end drives. But outperforms the Gen3 drives.

This might be a Gen 4 interface but the speeds are nowhere near comparable to a gen 4 drive, this has gen 3 speeds. Currently the best cost effective gen 4 drive is the 1TB Aorus for $160 which had...

@PeteyTheStriker When you say "Most people will never see the performance gains from a real gen 4 drive" what do you mean by that?

Not the best gen4 performance, but the lower price makes it a more accessible 2TB nVME drive. Most people won't notice the difference.

Well shoot, I just learned that the heatsink can get in the way of some mobos. Not worth tearing off the heatsink and potentially damaging the product imo.

It's my understanding that for gaming or general desktop use you will see diminishing returns for gen4 m.2 SSDs versus gen3. If you move large amounts of data all day in data center use this will...
