That's the dfr9, the r3 is newer and a better detector. The models are a bit confusing, one step up from the r3 is the r7 which is the newest/best uniden detector.

So much better? I wouldn't say that. Maybe if you need the arrows and a nicer screen. But with programming and range/detection, they are quite on par. So is the R7 worth $350 more? IMO, no.
