I'm glad I wasn't the only one. I played it when I was 10 and tried tons of times to beat that level, but never could. Racer was really punishing, a single crash could set you back a ton.

Mehh.. not in the top 20 N64 games. Otoh, if f-zero/wipeout is your jam, there's not really anything better or worse. The fast feeling futuristic racers are all kind of the same.

I played it back in its original form, and it was pretty basic controls-wise. I think a 6yr old will pick it up quickly. If the Xbox one version has split screen/local vs, that is fun.

I believe it is the remastered version of the N64 game. Just downloaded, it looks decent...ish. Not a full remaster but more a "now playable at 1080p" sort of remaster.
