MRCD is not used in red light cameras. Other tech, like MRCT and RLSC are used in red light cameras. I have an R3 with the latest firmware and have never been alerted to these. All red light alerts...

Line of sight yes, but they still take eyes off to come after you. There a period of time between alert before they are on you, but ok.

You'll mainly depend on the database and gps. MRCD in the us is only used in NYC, Maryland and DC (according to vortex at least)
