A lot of IKEA Is total junk, but yea the cheap Home Depot /target/Walmart are equally bad or worse. IKEA at least has good quality control. I find ikea is ok for build it yourself dressers desks...

Looks like IKEA quality and the reviews on Home Depot confirm that. Lots mfg variances; screw holes don’t align, etc. Customizations may need to be made when assembling.
