No. I was in the same boat when I bought a 10850k. I sold it and then bought a 10700k, because I didn't want to have to cool the 10850k (runs hot compared to the 10700k). 8/16 is enough for what I do.

It’s most likely not worth the upgrade. You’re looking at 650-700 minimum just to upgrade to a chipset with an EOL this year.

Intel claims single core performance is much better on Rocket Lake if that appeals to you. For me it does seeing as single core performance is still the primary reason you should be getting a CPU....

Same as it ever was. This is why I buy the best CPU I can afford and plan to keep it for a decade. My 3930k was $500 (expensive at the time) but held up very well. I don't plan to replace it...
