Just run the generator dry, no 'cleaning' necessary. You should do that for any modern gas powered equipment that is going to be stored for extended periods of time.

I've owned this exact generator for about 3 years now. Works fine for both fuels. As for the draining, there is a bolt you can unscrew to drain the engine oil.

Just throwing it out there, but WEN makes a cheap 4K open frame that’s an inverter that they claim is super low THD. Just putting this out there. $400 for 4K is a crazy good deal.
