DACs in budget Amps/Receivers are junk anyway The best ways is to use an external DAC and use this as an Amp only.

I'd usually say use a digital optical cable but this Pioneer doesn't even have an optical port. Only option would be a 3.5 to RCA cable. I don't think anyone should bother with this Pioneer.

Agree. Just got a Yamaha 579 for $60.00, an Onkyo 646 for $80.00 and a Yamaha 379 for $40.00. All of them are mint, have Bluetooth and plenty of HDMI ports.

This isn't good for phono, you'll still need a pre-amp: https://www.whathifi.com/us/pioneer/sx-10ae/review

The amp in this receiver is pretty decent, being able to drive 4 ohm load speakers. This receiver is really made by Onkyo, as Pioneer is now one of their divisions.

I agree. I was replying to the post asking for digital inputs. And I also agree to other people above that used mid-range receivers are better choices.

My Yamaha RX-V377 is their cheapest and it sounds just about as good as my RX-A770 from the premium Yamaha Aventage line. Maybe the differences between modern DACs are subtle?

Speaking of HDMI, how would someone output sound from a modern TV to this without an HDMI ARC?

Amps in budget receivers are " junk" as well So..if you are using this receiver the expectation is that both its DAC and AMP sections are both in the lower end of things
