I agree, my house has electric heat and my winter electric bills here in Texas are more than my summer bills when the AC runs all day. Electric heat pulls major wattage. I've been working from...

Just buy an inverter, but for a whole house application it's going to be $$$$. I would have installed a full standby (like 20kW+) years ago if I already had propane (or better yet NG) at my place...

Generators are great if they run on Natural Gas, otherwise you will have a "run on" the gas stations and propane - and end up at same place you started. Any power outage, that is the first things...

That is purely electric heat. They are great...I have one for my home office. But I would never turn it on with a generator powering it.

It's not just a freeze that knocks out power. Flood. Hurricane. Twister. Heat wave. If you have the space...get one.

I just got the WEN GN400i for a travel trailer. Has 4000 surge/3500W - so more power for appliances; but no way as quiet as this SUA2300i - which is also 50% lighter! Depends on your needs. This...
