You shouldn't need to as the stories are independent, but I enjoyed the first one. From what I hear, Bravely Default II is just more of Bravely Default and Bravely Second, but on the Switch this time.

I'm guessing it may be an international version. I bought Octopath from a deal similar to this last year, and the box was in Spanish. Game worked just fine in English.
