you need to connect your TV to the 1Mii transmitter as the firestick doesn't have any audio output. If you have the fire stick connected to a display without any audio output you are out of luck.

I have this, it works well. Be sure to set the tv volume to medium or high. Otherwise bluetooth signals to your headphones will cut in and cut out randomly.
