I don’t think this grinder would be good enough for espresso. You want very high consistency and very fine control over fineness of the grind. Otherwise, the shots will pour too fast or slowly.

No, I do French press. If you search ceramic burr grinder on Amazon and eBay, limit to under $10, eventually something cheap will show up. Most of the time you have to wait a few weeks.
