We have this for seeding in the house. MI springs get cold at night and we started seeds last week with snow still on the ground. Tossed in a couple LED grow lights and it will work well for us....

You could try making a cover using shade cloth, or they do make greenhouse plastic sheeting with UV inhibitors. They still only claim a 4 year lifespan, but that's better than only one season.
