Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of shorter cables, and invested in a bunch of 1 and 2 footers a while ago, but 6 inches seems useless. Curious, what are you folks using them for?

I am not bashing Cat5e but with gigabit internet much more available. Cat 6 should probably be your minimum and maximum cable. Cat6a for short patch cables makes sense but Cat 6 will do. I have the...

I like short cables but I don't really need 10 of them. I bet it is the case for most people too. 0.5' ethernet is best suited for router to modem/gateway. Maybe router to VoIP box if you have one....

Shipping is not free, right?
I think slimrun are more meant for patching? you would not want to use it in attic or in wall. ( a waste too. Using slimrun to patch switch -> patch panel looks a lot cleaner

If it isn't CAT7 or 8, why get old non-upgradable stuff, even if cheap? I am all CAT 7 and have been for a year and it really makes a difference in speeds and capacity.

Ya I was gonna say, the slimrun cables are SO much easier to work with in tight areas, 6" length you gotta use those not these standard "stiff" cables hehe.

For obscure runs, I agree. But for 10 half a foot, I’d gladly part with 6 bucks to not have to deal with the hassle of crimping.

Seems this free shipping trick has stopped working. Correction: It still works. I used 6" green patch cable as "filler" and didn't realize that the original price for 5" green is $0.56. My bad.

I don't like slim cables for following reasons 1) if you need to crimp, it is pain in the behind 2) if you run it in your attic, heat will cause interference

Everyone looking at this I highly recommend you look at the slimrun cables. They might cost a little more but are SO worth it. https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=29474
