You can always get it with the idea if you dislike it, you'll return it. I ended up returning mine due to scroll wheel issues... but maybe mine was just a dud. You don't need the logitech software...

decent price, just don't buy Logitech as a spare, IMO. Even at particularly good prices. I've had them (more than one model) start to fail in less than a year, after sitting sealed in the closet...
