I was able to get the layered black/clear case w/a switched PSU for $10 FWIW. (I think 3 heatsinks instead of 4 but keeps pretty cool)) I think it may go for more now though.

You can run pi-hole comfortably on pi zero. If you don't mind going wireless, get the pi zero w. If you want ethernet, just get cheapest pi with an ethernet port. You won't feel much difference...
