If you haven’t already read wicked I would check out some reviews to make sure it’s what you’re looking for. It is pretty dark and if it were made into a movie as-is it would probably be rated R.

I'll second this. Wicked wasn't really my thing, my buddy loves it tho so i went to see it live with him and was sorta surprised how dark it was😯 it was a good show though too!

No. No. No. Wicked is a very nice book but it's about as adult as they come. It's sad and cruel and introspective, full of dark politics and bad religion, and contains death and beastiality...

The play was fantastic but the book was very dark and depressing. About the only things the book and the play have in common are some of the characters names and the title..

I'm with you. I enjoyed the first one - though I did question the authors disdain for Toto. Second one - yeah, quit right there. I didn't want to see what was next after excuse for a crap show.
