I had the sony xb23 and it sounded terrible so I would avoid this one. The xb23 even used the sony app to adjust the sound but it still sounded muffled. I sold it and got a jbl

Having an aux jack is fine because it makes the speaker more flexible, you can plug older devices into the speaker even if they don't have Bluetooth, and an aux jack should have higher sound quality...
