Not sure I follow - 8gb is pretty typical for a chromebook. The i5 here would be the overkill for a chromebook and that and a decent screen likely contributes to the cost.

I think the battery life on Galaxy Chromebook is very poor. The Galaxy Chromebook 2 has a much better battery life but it's also more expensive.
