Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a full back up. I've recovered a lot of data from HDD's, but SSD's with TRIM, basically none of the data is recoverable.

It's not price per TB because 2nd hand 4TB has much lower price per TB than bigger ones. It's because they don't want smaller drives to occupy drive bays. Drive bays are precious resource now.
