A 4 core lap heater…for a high price. :(

The build is okay. This gets higher fps in gaming than the 2020 Asus G14 that has a 8 core cpu and 2060 gpu. The 144hz screen is fine as well considering faster GPUs aren't getting 144+ fps on newer...

This is a trash CPU, I would pay more than $800.

For laptop GPUs higher TDP means the GPU is allowed to use more power (and as a byproduct create more heat) for higher performance. Manufacturers will limit TDP so that the laptop doesn't get too hot...

I don't think you quite understand, portable or not, this build is not right. It's not matched right for efficiency. The 6 core i7 would limit me to 90s FPS on Warzone with a 2060. The CPU was the...

Doesn't this CPU slot in above the 1165G7? The few reviews I saw seemed like this was running AAA games anywhere between 60 to 80 fps because they drew on the GPU, not the CPU. Would appreciate any...

It is not even a good idea for today's gaming. Multiple reviewers like Hardware Canucks, Hardware Unboxed, Notebookcheck, have reviewed Asus Dash 15 with same CPU and a 85W TDP RTX 3070 and found out...

Basically, we're still ignoring Intel until they get good. Could be a while.

Excuse my ignorance but why is having 6 or 8 core important for gaming? I was under the impression that most games utilized single core and rest is all GPU workload. That was kinda the Achilles...

Hey Mr Ignorant, if you been doing this for 26 years I am happy I never bought a computer from you..... On high setting this combo of hardware struggles to break 50 FPS on high at 1080 resolution...

Just a word of warning so people don't get confused by Intel's marketing shenanigans. This is the CPU that caused a lot of controversy because Intel decided to slap on an i7 onto a 4 core...

I was hitting CPU limit on FPS gaming with 6 cores i7 before. This is a not a good idea for future proof gaming. I'd recommend a hard pass on this machine for gaming.

Video encoding and editing is primarily a CPU intensive task, this CPU is gimped hard. Complete pass. You want a laptop for Video encoding and editing get something with a Ryzen 7 chip. The GPU...

You have wrong idea. IPC is important but today's most of the games can use 6 or more cores and Quad core CPUs, even the desktop ones with fat higher TDP than these laptop chips, tend to bottleneck...

It’s been this price for months I believe, and hasn’t sold well. I’ve never seen it at full MSRP on BB.

I'll leave the specific spec commentary to you guys, but what I find funny is the idea of using a thin sheath to protect a $1300 laptop 😁

Can someone help me understand the role of TDP in determining GPU performance? Does higher TDP mean better?

Thumbs up from me. This laptop and the Asus G14 are targeted at people that need ultra portability and a decent video card. If you don't care about that combo then it's not going to be a good deal...

Seems to be pretty good specs for the price, but only if you are gaming most of the time should one consider this, IMO. The industry is moving towards 16:10 aspect ratio. For games, 16:9 is still...

That information is like 10 years out of date. Even back in 2010 Starcraft 2 needed at least a dual core - back then the argument was dual vs. quad and even then more and more games were starting to...
