Yeah, there is no logic to redeeming the points for products, even with this discount. Just pay yourself the 1.5 cents per point and buy your desired apple product and have cash left over.

iirc, only cards with an annual fee (reserve and preferred) can transfer points to affiliate programs at a 1:1 ratio. Freedom cards cannot transfer to affiliate programs at all.
