Not even remotely correct. Many notebook makes and models provide an SODIMM slot for RAM expansion (in addition to whatever amount is soldered onto the motherboard).

I believe you are mistaken. This laptop (or exact same spec) is not available on Amazon. I have this laptop purchased from Walmart but with 16GB. Paid $349.

As far as I know, Acer still owns the Gateway brand. EVOO builds these PCs using the licensed brand name from Acer.

I'm very happy with mine. No problems at all. If you take care of it I'm sure it'll hold together. It definitely isn't the most durable from the stand point of build quality, but for my purposes...
