Depends. Will you use a dedicated GPU? If so, the 5600x is the better choice. If not, then the 5600g is better and has integrated graphics.

Ddr4 would probably be fine with the I5. I haven't checked the mobo availability with ddr4. Personally I'd have a problem buying one with ddr4, knowing I'd be leaving performance on the table.

Yes but very few alder lake mobo's support ddr4. So far ddr4 is relegated to the "economy" chipsets.

Depends IMHO. If need performance- 5600x is a much better CPU, also has PCIE 4.0 support. When used with 4.0 SSD and video cards you will get probably 15- 20% better performance. But if don’t care...

I have to push back on the energy bill part. Alderlakes while gaming use a very reasonable amount of power. Under something like blender or rendering is when they use a lot more power.

Current ddr5 is only 1-2% faster due to latency. It will take ddr5 some time to mature to actually be faster and more beneficial than ddr4. The huge price prem on ddr5 isn't worth it right now.
