Looks like the old homepage that was actually legible is gone for good now? And the traditional forum view? So it all looks like the mobile site that I refuse to use?

You can do this by going to your profile in the upper right, choose Settings and Options -> Site Settings. Setting your Default Frontpage Tab is the first option.
