I have a similar system I have had for years. Just move the handles/shaft of the tool further up or down the hook and it will hold it in place with gravity and force pushing it towards the wall....

I found that studs weren't enough. Plastic between the studs would flex out, even with drywall anchors. Mounted a 1x3 to the studs and the rack to the 1x3.
