I use the TV operating system just to control the TV and plug in a stick or a shield for apps and content. I don't connect it to the network either. It keeps the tv OS clean and responsive.

You can always get a Roku stick if you need to use but don’t like Google TV which I’ve heard bad things about.

Any LG TV that isn't OLED has bright grey "blacks", a terrible contrast ratio due to IPS design. I would take a cheap VA panel over a cheap IPS (or even an expensive IPS?) any day.

In Costco they play samples on loop on the displays. When looking at this tv and compared against the 2 next to it, there was some brief stuttering on the nature scenes. Not terrible but it’s there.
