I’d complain to Amazon. If you call, politely ask to speak to someone based in the U.S. (apparently you can do that). They won’t change this return practice if customers don’t give negative feedback....

Nope. Still buying. Apple is awesome, and you can still take it back to the Apple Store if needed. There is a one year warranty on all Apple products.
