If you have Amazon credit card (which you must, if you were able to qualify to Discover), you get 5% on your Amazon card without going through hoops.

I believe it just depends on what people are looking to buy. Sometimes it is Amazon, sometimes it is Lowe’s (at 15% off on gc’s), other times it is HD (at 10% off on gc’s).
