Northern Tools has Polymer garden boxes. They have a garbage bag type liner in them also. I'm going to invest money in a couple rather than in metal or wood planters.

For a vegetable garden, I'll stick to cedar or natural wood. Galvanized steel has lead and cadmium in the zinc coating.

I would add that you may need to add some edge trim rubber to the top of the galvanized lip. It can be sharp and harm you, kids or animals. It is inexpensive and worth adding.
