Think it as a surprise. I have done this new account bonus thing with a lot of banks over the years. There were only few experiences that I have to call to get it (only if their promised date...

Hello ... How often do deals like these pop up? And how's capital one as a bank? I'm thinking about switching to it from my current bank but I want some sort of a bonus!!

I ended up pulling all but $100 out and will transfer it to Dollar Savings Direct, which is 5% now. Will keep the $100 in for maybe a month then pull it out and close it. Only harm is maybe missing...

Deposit on April 24th. Got bonus Aug 11th. Any reason I can't move all the money out and close the account? I don't see anything in the fine print.

No need to stop :) In the last year and a half, I'm up to $6170 earned out of a possible $7620 in bank SUB's (this doesn't count credit card SUB's).

Anyone receive the $1000? Let’s post when the bonus shows up so we can prep. :)

FYI read the fine print. I did this in November and didn’t get the bonus because I pulled the money on day 95. 90 day clock starts two weeks after the account opened. So it’s really day 104 not 90....

Opened the savings account on 5/3 and finally got it funded today, been waiting all week for funds to transfer from my credit union. Hopefully will see the bonus in November... I know the offer is...

That sucks, but it definitely says that: So 90 days + 15 days = 105 days. I'll keep it in a little longer just to make sure.

Bonuses are good, but I've always been weary of banks offering them. Usually the apy is not the highest 3.5apy when discover is 3.75 and Synchrony is 4.15. Capital one is notorious for lagging...

CIT, Citibank and some offer better APY on CDs. Fed is expected to raise interest rate by up to 25bps next month, so if you think that will happen and will be passed down by banks, then plan...

Except youre not using your brain here. Its $1000 bonus + 3.5% APY as well. You would still have 3.5% APY for those 90 days too... So the total would be more than 4% APY...

Let’s do a little math… $100,000@4%= 4,000 per year This deal: 100,[email protected]%= 3,500 Bonus : 1,000 Total: 4,500 first year Also, you only need to keep your money in CapitalOne for part of the...

less than 1% on 100k over 90 days seems like a bad deal though?
Post #163109087 added 04-24-2023 5:23 AM by bppcomplete in Deal Talk
ok dude you'll earn $863.74 of interest in the three months instead of $875, so the (simple, non-compound) interest is 3.464% instead of 3.510%. Both figures can be considered "3.5%"... edit to...

I'm seeing a 90 day hold. Edit: I see how it's done now. Open the account with $25 and fund the remaining amout "within" 30 days. Also, what's the interest paid on the account?

I'd rather invest the $100K in stocks and earn $300 in dividend every quarter. Unless you're balling in income and $100K is your emergency savings, or you're retired or close to retirement, having...

There's plenty of reasons why one might need to keep cash on hand, even if 100k or whatever bonus they aim for is a significant amount to them.

I don't understand all these comments, if you have $100k liquid this is essentially 7.5% for three months. No brainer.

Earning 1% on 100k for a "sign up bonus" is not good at all. Even the 3.5% is just average now, and will surely fall as the FED lowers rates in the coming years. I get a better rate at Ally and don't...

100K in UFB 5%, now transfer to Capital One 3.5% for 3 months. So 1.5% loss for 3 months for 100K, but gain $1k, worth it? I think it will worth it, because the interest you loss is about $375,...
